Local Air Guard wing deploys for Afghanistan

Troops may soon be withdrawing from Afghanistan but on Thursday 200 local air guardsmen were headed to the war-torn country in cargo planes loaded at Moffett Field.

And their retirements plans don't kick in until age 60 at 50 percent for 20 years and a maximum 75 percent at 30 years. And their not whining. Mountain View public employees, particularly MVPD and MVFD, should take note.

I am very sorry to read this. Who is going to be the last man to die for this incredibly stupid idea? You know that an empire is dying when it invades Afghanistan. Not only do our so-called "leaders" neglect history, they haven't even seen RETURN OF THE JEDI.

Those Ewoks are FIERCE. They are home, defending their homes. All our troops want to do is GET home. Do you see why this is unwinnable?
