I live in Sahara Village and this story is my first alert about this event. I am very sorry to learn that one of my neighbors has lost their home.
Ironically, the Sahara manager and I had a conversation just last week about management's efforts to get some of the "mind games" folks to stop parking in the fire lane streets here. I fully support and adhere to the no parking in street policy. It's been a no parking in streets policy since before I moved in here 12 years ago. Mostly residents are compliant but as with so many self-evidently sensible rules there are a few people who insist on ignoring them, and resent all attempts to make them comply.
Late last year, MV city hall declared our streets an official fire lane and now management has the leverage to haul offending cars off the street via patrolling tow trucks. I for one am glad to know it. Cars parked in our streets are hazards not just to fire trucks but to in-park auto traffic and esp to bicyclist/residents who use our 2-lane only streets for exercise programs.
So now I hope management will post copies of this story in our monthly magazine (if MV Voice agrees) and on the bulletin board in our club house too.
