Today: Another 'Spare the Air' day

A second Spare the Air Day has been called for today (Jan. 2), banning the burning of wood and solid fuel, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

Perfect timing, during the coldest days, the environmental agency issues this ban. I think the environmental agency should be banned.

It's a shame that rapid transit isn't free (or nearly so) on Spare the Air Days. Expensive? Sure, but sometimes that's the cost of clean(er) air.

Ideally Rapid Transit throughout the Bay Area would be so inexpensive that taking your car would, by comparison, cost a fortune. It would certainly improve air quality matters!
