I was in my car approaching the Grant Rd & 237 intersection enroute to do a chore near Rengstorff and Charleston. Was debating taking Hyway 85 N to 101 or ECR N. When radio announced this fatality accident. I cringed and immediately chose to avoid driving past the accident scene so I took ECR route.

For a moment or two I was suddenly so sad. The image of the accident seemed vivid to me.

Motorcycles are fun I guess but they are so dangerously exposed if something goes wrong.

Best wishes to the famiy and friends of this biker. A BMW rider hardly sounds like a Hell's Angel antisocial menace.

Kate: According to the story it was a Triumph, not a BMW. Not sure what the make of the motorcycle has to do with anything.

We knew this guy, he was definitely not the antisocial menace type. Very nice guy. This is really tragic.

I heard the accident happen in front of me probably 8 to 10 cars away since i had to leave early that day. It looked as if the motorcyclist was between lanes or in the carpool lane and collided with the back of the mini which appeared to have light to moderate damage which was surprising based on the noise. The bike was on fire as I passed on the right. I pulled over to call 911 but I saw several others on their phones and a couple guys running to the scene. I was so sorry to hear about the rider since I ride my bike on that route often. It looked to me to be no ones fault but rather one of those split second accidents where the rider couldn't react in time to a lane change while splitting lanes. A very terrible thing to happen.

Michi was a friend of mine and was very beloved by many. He was a social worker who dedicated his life to helping other people. He was also a talented musician and much more. He had an amazing soul. I doubt we will ever know anyone else like him, he was truly a person I was blessed to know. May he rest in peace.
