I would really like to see some details on how their monetary donations are spent? I have a very strong feeling that too much monetary donations are spent in lavish compensation. No one is asking these charities to reveal how much their execs make in compensation and perks. I hope people think twice before making monetary donations. I am all for donating food to these organizations. But a $12M goal shows there is some fishy and something is out of whack here.

I'm sure these greedy execs are padding their coffers with excess turkey. They're asking for food for the needy! Obviously there have been highly publicized excesses across the country but the idea here is to help feed the needy during the holidays. If I've said it once I've said it numerous times-- jupiterk - upit = jerk.

Too bad that neither of these persons did any research before leaping to the usual negative comment.
"Charity Navigator ranks Second Harvest Food Bank among the top 3% of charities nationwide for fiscal responsibility. The Food Bank has received 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations, which demonstrates financial health, accountability, and transparency."

Digulio,
Apparently you didn't pick up the fact I was pointing out how assinine jupiterk's comment was, as they usually are. I'm on your side but maybe I should've connected all the dots for you. Give to the needy during the holidays to Second Harvest.

The $12 million goal shows that there are a lot of mouths to feed all year long, but the holidays are the time of year when most people give.
