Burglars hit mobile home park

About $17,000 in cash and jewelry was stolen from a home in the Santiago Villa Mobile Home Park on Oct. 24, police said.

They knew what was there. Santiago Villa is far too secluded for this to have been random, especially since every one of those mobile homes looks the same.

I agree that this was probably not random and perhaps the thieves knew the homeowners. However, as a resident of this park, it would be nice if the park management would put a notice out to the residents informing us of this event. This could serve several purposes, including reminding residents to vigilant by keeping a watchful eye for anyone that doesn't belong in the park, and reminding residents to secure their homes. If this robbery was perpetrated by someone that was also a resident (anything is possible), it would also put them 'on notice' that we are all watching!

It does not make me happy that I have to find out about this kind of activity in my own mobile home park via MV Voice TWELVE days after the robbery!!
