Third-grade Mountain View resident Ethan Xie won a $529 check towards his college education from ScholarShare, California's 529 College Savings Plan.

Did he actually read anything? Or is that not worth reporting or relevant to the story?

Really? You just like to see your words in print?

Did you want a list of all the books that Xie read? Obviously, he was part of the summer reading program, which it said in the article.

When "winners are selected at random" I think its a fair question to ask why the reporter mentions nothing about what was read.

For the sake of promoting reading, a list of a few books he read would have added a lot to this joke of and article.
