It is a beautiful building and grounds, of which the congregation ought to rightfully proud. It is reminiscent of many of the temples in Japan.
However, when I first sought to join about 20 years ago, I was told that I would stick out as a gaijin, so I should probably seek membership elsewhere. That itai is burned in my soul.

SteveH, it's time to heal your soul and realize that it is no longer 20 years ago. My family may "stick out", but we have never been made to feel less than welcome at the temple.
