Caltrain gets funds to start modernization work

Glad this is finally getting done after years and years of talk. It is really too bad that Caltrain has to go through so many more hoops to get improvements funded, compared to other transportation projects e.g. highway work.

Something good will come dfrom the Obama-Brown Railroad to nowwhere. The Caltrain $40 million in state funds to pay for the first phase of modernizing and electrifying the popular Peninsula rail system was thrown in as a a sweetner to get the required votes.

wouldn't the electrical wires get in the way of the taller freight trains that use that right of way?
