League of Voters MVWSD candidate endorsement?

Original post made by Steven Nelson, Cuesta Park, on Sep 7, 2012

And here I thought the League of Women Voters was impartial: "The League does not support or oppose any political party or candidate...". But in the MVWSD Board race I guess that may not be the case. LWV member Bill Lambert's candidate website today (Sept 7) states on its "Endorsements" page "League of Women Voters of Los Altos-Mountain View".

I guess the MVWSD Candidates Forum may not be as unbiased as I thought! ( :-(

No problem - that's the point of civic debate - "Making Democracy Better"! I'll be glad to meet with Bill in this forum with one (or two) hands tied behind my back.

SN and BL are both regular MVWSD Board attendees and now candidates
[is that a mistake Bill and Ellen?]

I'd be very interested in hearing more about this. I've wondered lately how impartial the League of Women Voters is considering they have been supporting BCS over LASD in recent disagreements with SCCOE. I'm definitely questioning whether the League actually is unbiased.

This has been fixed on Bill's web site (www.elect-bill-lambert.com/endorsements). You can also check my website at { Web Link ) and eventually all the candidates at SmartVoter.com. -have we offically entered silly season-

SN is a candidate for MVWSD Board
(and if you don't read "The Voter" can vouch for Bill observing at more Board meetings the last year than even myself and at least one Board member)
