Temple's Obon fest celebrates family

The thrumming of Japanese taiko drums reverberated through the air during a recent practice at the Mountain View Buddhist Temple. Participants chanted and performed traditional dances in preparation for the temple's largest festival of the year, set for Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22.

MV Obon fest is the best. Better than San Francisco, San Jose, or anywhere else. I love it! In fact, I wish they had a spring festival as well. So wonderful!

I have attended this festival for many years as I moved from S.F. in 1952. I was used to the asian culture and the whole family spirit of this event. Try to attend and have a wonderful joyous time.
