Mountain View set to OK Chik-Fil-A

Original post made on Jul 12, 2012

Fast-food chain Chick-Fil-A is hoping to expand into the Bay Area with a new location in Mountain View, though the company's apparent opposition to gay marriage might not be so appetizing in these parts.

Good to see MV council supporting the rule of law and Constitution - while we may not agree with Chick Fil A opinions, they have the same rights as pro-gay businesses and groups.

We all have the right to not patronize a business. We don't have a right to use city or state codes/laws/process to to prevent them from operating. Even raising the point in any discussion of the city decision is an affront to everyone who values diversity and free speech.

As the ACLU frequently notes, it's easy to be pro-speech when someone is saying something you like, but the real test of your tolerance is when someone is saying something you don't like.

Good Luck Chik Fil A, you're just another fast food chain...the primary reason to stay away.. (come think of it, we never went to Sizzler either!)
This is not the midwest.. We are lucky to have a huge number of great locally owned healthy, innovative, fair priced and fun restaurants, to support some Atlanta Georgia anti-gay fast food heart disease/obesity provider...
I dont' expect Chick Fil A will be out there in the community supporting local events and charities, Like Hobbees and many other local supporters
