The High Speed Rail money would be better used for three projects:
1. Electrify Caltrain
2. Improve trains in the Los Angeles area.
3. Build a Bakersfield - LA Rail connection

This is a great idea, so long as it does not commit California to the multi-Billion Dollar Boondoggle of High Speed Rail. If Tissier and Eshoo this this is such a good idea, they should sponsor it a new bill that does not include committing us to spend billions on a HSR project that more than half of California don't want.

Why not add some money making space for Caltrain and other services to stations. See waiting rooms, restrooms, shops. You could build offices, retail, housing near the stations. Look at 908 Villa St. Why not take that old house and move it next to train station, might make a great Chamber of Commerce and MV Info Center.

One more thing, better improvement on travel time, services, transfers to bus, shuttle, private car or hire car sevicer (driver) just might incrase ridership
