Good to hear the number of arrests is down. Hopefully this means the amount of drunk driving is down too.

Just curious: has anyone here ever been stopped in a DUI checkpoint? I have never even seen one.

I've been stopped at DUI Checkpoints in the past. Nothing recently though.

I read someplace that Santa Clara County was using their resources to increase patrols. Recent studies have shown that checkpoints are not very effective. Police have a better chance of catching drunks behind the wheel if they are actually driving around the community.

I think the whole thing is a waste of money but I really hate the checkpoints.
