Does this mean that the police believe there is still a violent bike thief on the loose near downtown Mountain View? Have there been any more thefts or attacks in that area?

I thought the victim of the theft had identified him.

I read your article and I can't help but be upset. This "Liz" is really starting to irritate me. She is trying to cover her you know what since she released FALSE INFORMATION to you originally about Craig holding a black bag in the CVS video. I would appreciate it if you would PLEASE STATE THIS in your article. They are still trying to make it sound as if he could have done this. CRAIG JORDAN WAS STILL ON LIGHTRAIL AT 11:10am! Did they mention this to you? Your article is trying to raise more questions and controversy rather than get the truth out there and clear Craig's name. It sounds to me that the MVPD is a bit upset with themselves that they focused all their energy and attention on the WRONG GUY and let the real attacker get away. Now the poor victim and his bike are probably still in danger. I was in court for the prelim and I heard all of the WITNESSES being questioned, and it's my understanding that NONE of the witnesses said Craig was the attacker. In fact, the witness who was the closest to the incident was FOR SURE that CRAIG WAS NOT THE ATTACKER. Only the victim "identified him" (from many feet away) after being bashed in the head. So why doesnt this police spokesperson mention any of the witnesses descriptions of the attacker? Why is it that all they keep mentioning is how the VICTIM identified Craig?? Obviously the victims memory wasnt that hot after being bashed in the head a few times. They need to state ALL THE FACTS and quit with their "There was an abundance of evidence to indicate Jordan was responsible for the robbery," crap. The fact of the matter is, it was NOT Craig. Period! So get over yourselves and let's TALK THE TRUTH! Justice was not served for the victim in this case - and now THERE IS STILL A VIOLENT ATTACKER AND BIKE THIEF OUT THERE!

"It was too long ago to remember" were his EXACT words many times. The whole case was bogus. The guy wanted to blame somebody for his bike ALMOST being stolen so he "identified" the first person the police found. If you werent there to hear the FACTS then you really shouldn't have an opinion. Craig is legally blind without glasses... the attacker - not wearing glasses. They had no case because they had the WRONG GUY. And that's that. I have followed this case closely as a concerned patron of Mtn. View. It seems that the MVPD did not do a good job capturing the guy that tried to steal the bike and "bashed" the victim. There were 2 witnesses brought into court and both said that it was NOT the person being charged. They both said that person was small and lean, didn't wear glasses and was carrying a black bag. Craig is 6', not lean, wears glasses and was carrying a white CVS bag when he was apprehended. The victim was the only one that said Craig was the person that did it however he couldn't remember anything else about what happened. Craig having a small amount of drugs on him didn't help his situation and made it easier for the police to take him in on this charge but now they have left the real thief out there to steal and attack again. The news paper needs to get this story right and stop bashing Craig or others in this type of situation. If incorrect information is printed it not only leads the public to thinking they are safe when no one has been caught and the person (in this case Craig) slandered. I really hope the police are working on finding the guy who did this so no one else is hurt and I hope this paper and others will think about what they write a little more in the future. If it was you that was in this situation how would you feel?

The police in Mtn View are doing a great job. They are not perfect. If they did NOT arrest someone they felt did the crime...you guys would scream and shout.
