This to me is a slippery slope, I can understand the why you would. The new CEO who will land this postion working for ECH, will you expect them to keep the high standards, deal with the workers, the professional staff, the patients, fund raising, keepin the taxpayers happy and keeping the hospital up to date. Or will we just find someone who will work a few years, move on to a better postion, then we have to headhunt for a CEO.

Why are we voting on this? These people do not give themselve raises.. well maybe they sort of do.

But they are all ultimately elected. So if we don't like what they are paying someone we can vote them out of office.

It's like we've lost all hope in the election process. People in office should think before doing things. They're not afraid of losing their jobs.

J. Stalin and V. Lenin would be so proud of this ballot measure.

Seriously, does the CEO work 40 hours a week? The CEO deals with more stuff than the governor. Why don't a few of the union workers try shadowing this position for a year and tell us if you would work for 2x of pay.

A lower pay for the CEO ultimately means lower pay for the vice presidents, and the directors, and the managers, and eventually the SEIU members....

Wow, I'd like to know what every one who thinks this is a bad idea would recommend for a salary for themselves. Apparently the sky is the limit for a public hospital.

According to the Economic Policy Institute, since 1978, CEO compensation has gone up 725%, while rank and file workers' pay has gone up 5.7%. Income inequality in America is now worse than in many third-world countries.

Hogs at the trough. Today's pig, tomorrow's bacon.

What we have currently is socialism for the rich, and free enterprise for the poor. 31 years of Reaganomics and there are no jobs. The labor struggle of one hundred years ago must be fought again.

Everyone has their own opinions, however...understand that this has nothing to do with the pay at El Camino and everything to do with standard SEIU attack tactics. When they don't get what they want they attack until something sticks. This is simply their latest attemp.

Also, don't be misled. Most of the workers at El Camino are sick of SEIU but cannot get from under the Union. They have lied and taken dues from the employees for a very long time. Now they are trying to divert attention by going after the highest paid positions at ECH. Do you think it's coincidence that they start at the lowest waged employees and get them riled up about what someone else is making?

HEre's a question...who out there thinks they can do the CEO's job? WHo out there can handle the pressure? Who out there would even know what is being talked about during the meetings and decision making periods?

Check into this Union...trust me, they are no good!

DON'T BE FOOLED!!
