Excellent! It is always great to see people supporting organizations whose missions they believe in. When the support comes with a huge check, that's even better. :)

Well done, VC guys! Seems like they picked a good collection of charities too.
Let this be an inspiration for all of us to give a little more. Most of us can't pony up $1M but even quite small donations can make a big difference for local charities.

What's interesting is that local VC firms like Andreessen Horowitz serve as incubators for the next generation of innovation, by funding businesses in a competitive process.
We benefit not only from their success through charities, but through the innovation that is fostered and ultimately realized in new companies that thrive here in the valley, and bring jobs and tax dollars with them.
