Palo Alto Municipal Services Center, a critical hub of city services
For AUTO dealer or anything else in that location - NO - NO -NO - NO - NO - NO
Hopefully Palo Alto's Policy and Services Committee plus the City Council will learn how to say one (1) word >>>> NO !!!!

Please see my "comment" on the headline issue of Traffic Cameras onGrant Road.. That cost us (yeah, like "Grants" are not a real cost?"...over $400,000... I'd much rather keep the Animal Shelter for $400.000 per year than pay that for Traffic Cameras to monitor traffic flows.
Time to make real priority calls rather then just keep spending spending spending.

This "NO-NO-NO" attitude makes NO sense. It is not like they have a choice of saying Yes or No the shelter going under. Mountain View is pulling out, so the center will eventually fail. So the center is going away regardless. The city can either allow something there to gather tax revenue to help offset rising pension costs, or they can just let the center decay unused and generate nothing for anyone. It is not a matter of saying NO to a dealership. It is a matter of deciding how to best use the space that is likely to be available.

So George, the fact that it was a grant means that it was not available to spend on the animal shelter. So your whole "comment" is pointless. $105K of city money WAS used, but since that is not enough to save the animal shelter, it would be ridiculous and wasteful to spend it there. I wish they WOULD save the animal shelter, but the lights and the grant have NOTHING to do with it.

Seems to me, this construction would extremely disruptive and harmful to the marshlands and migrating birds.
Someone should look into that......

Seems to me the police dept doesn't generate any money either. except for the lucky officer who made $400K and the dozens of others who made $80-100K.
Maybe we should get rid of that too.

Good work City Council. Maybe you could get Google to pay for the animal services. Since you gave them the whole city. Where does all the Google money go anyway? I don't think Google needs a car dealership.
