Don't we have enough apartments in MV?

We certainly have enough luxury apartments.

I say we would be better off if we tore down all the apartments on California Street. Way too many apartments to begin with in Mountain View. Unless you want to bring the Navy back.

I'm tired of more apartments. The city already has an over 50% rental rate, much higher that neighboring communities. It will be interesting to see the affect all of these new buildings has on school enrollments. MVWSD seems to already be bursting at the seams.

Interesting to note that Mtn. View has more apartments that any nearby city. And we will be having more built. Amazing.

Now this Western Appliance building, is this the one currently open for business or is this article referring to another (previous) location? We bought our dual oven/microwave oven at Western Appliance a few years ago.

Great, more housing downtown... Possibly the worst traffic location in Mountain View & we're gonna ok more cars. That with 200 more apartments at Minton's & there's going to be jams every morning! How about fixing the traffic flow before new housing goes up?

Well, I am glad to be living in a city people want to move to, rather than a declining one. It's good for us that businesses want to expand in Mountain View.

Too many apartments in MV? NO. We need more, with good owners and managers like mine.

Having lived in a Prometheus-run apartment complex before, I have only two words: STAY AWAY.

They are the very definition of high rent + bad service apartments. Why can't Mountain View find a good apartment management company to build apartments?

Money speaks. Money is the most powerful "voice" amongst the human race (at least to some people). What do real estate developers care if environmental conditions are impacted by more dense housing; what do they care if already over populated communities become more populated; what do they care if horrible traffic conditions are heightened with even more vehicles littering the road; what do they care about increasing noise levels.... Apparently most developers only care about what's in it for them. If it's prime land nothing is gonna stop these monetary villains from erecting ugly, in your eye monstrosities.

So the new look of Mt. View is a collection of egregious concrete walls called apartment buildings. I shouldn't limit this to only Mt. View. It's happening all over the south bay. Even the once quaint downtown Los Altos is becoming a scaled down Manhattan!

I'd like to know what makes these new apartments so "state of the art?" Because they're wired for internet, etc. Do they have solar? What?

Personally I'm really sick of this "new look" that's raping the visual serenity out of our community. Apartment buildings for the most part are ugly structures. Just how many more people can we cram into this community?

Our roads are dangerously saturated with clueless drivers who think nothing of blowing red lights, speeding, playing with their foolish cell phones, tailgating, driving with headlights off in the dark, etc.... Now we get to usher in more clueless motorists.

I can remember when El Camino Real was a rather peaceful motoring route many years ago. Now it's become a war zone with some of the worst, dangerously unskilled drivers that I've ever encountered.

And they call this progress?
