The Eye is a registered user.

Even the simplest motion sensor with a chime can prevent this kind of thing from happening. You can get them for around $40, and they're worth every penny for the simple security solution and peace of mind that they provide.

Also, if you have a house from the 40's or 50's with a side garage door that is very thin, it can easily be kicked open (even when locked). When we got robbed the police said those old doors should be replaced with a solid door that has deadbolt going far enough into the frame so it can't be kicked open. Because so many houses were built at the same time, many of us have the exact same doors as the one that was kicked open at our house. Door was locked and it was daytime so motion sensor light which we do have was not useful.
