I don't know if MV has the capability, but they should base a swift water rescue team out of this station due to all the waterways and water features of the area.
Also, if N. bayshore is to become an island in the event of a major earthquake, there should be a plan to evacuate the tens of thousands of people who might get stuck if it happens during working hours.

Clearly, Mtn View has no money problem. Only money management problems. Say 'no thanks' next time the city insists it needs higher taxes.

You think the city has no money problems? Then why is a project slated for construction in 1998 just being completed now? We are fortunate to have a city management team which wisely adjudicates limited resources. and I am one resident who applauds the public art required on all new construction of over a $1M budget!

Wow, 1 million for art. One wonders why the schools are out of money, and the mold is festering in other buildings. Don't get me wrong, Fire and Police are valuable resources, but 1 million for art. I'm in the wrong business, I should of been an artist. For that matter any government job would of been nice. :)

I'm with you Larry Condit. I agree that the city is well managed and I'm glad to finally have a finished (and good looking) fire house North of Bayshore.

Mountain View is one of the better managed cities, the new fire station was planned since 98, but the fire crews came first in portable buildings. As for costs, prices do go up, prices of goods go up. So someone who makes 120,000 dollars and then gets taxed how much money does he or she keeps.
