Miffed over meeting minutes

A City Council effort to save money has apparently backfired, causing city planning commissioners to call a new system of recording the city's meetings "of little use" in a letter to the council.

I agree. The new minutes show that somebody voted for or against something. It would be more useful to know why they voted that way since often people say that they're voting a particular way but they have reservations.

Watching a 3 hour meeting video to find the 1 minute in question is ridiculous vs. skimming through 10 pages of minutes to find the topic in question and then skimming through that section to find the relevant thoughts.

This will just serve to diminish government transparency.
