The Eye is a registered user.
"A senior field representative to California Sen. Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) was arrested for public drunkenness and vandalism on Nov. 13, after two police officers witnessed him lift a city-owned concrete cigarette receptacle and smash it on the sidewalk, according to Palo Alto police."
Really? One of those cement ones? If he did this, I hope they made him pee in a specimen cup and tested him for PCP.

He picked it up and threw it in the air? Maybe he is the amazing Hulk! Or is the police account a bit embellished?

Anyone who can't lift 40 lbs should be in the gym, not on the internet making silly comments

I am surprised that Palo Alto has city owned cigarette receptacles. This seems sort of out of touch with the times.
Also it is strange that the Voice seemed to need to include the persons employer in the article when there doesn't seem to be anything job related in this incident. I wonder if they are pursuing some sort of agenda here?

If he were an illegal you'd just be told the color of clothing he was wearing.
The Voice double standard rules the day.
The editor should be fired if this man loses his job.
