Making a veteran's day

Maj. Thomas W. Keegan kisses his son Tom at a medal ceremony held at Moffett Field on Saturday, Nov. 5. Keegan was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, one of the U.S. Air Force's highest honors, for his service in Afghanistan's Helmand Province. He was one of 10 members of the Air National Guard's 129th Air Rescue Wing honored at the ceremony for their service in combat rescue missions. Photo by Michelle Le.

Congratulations for this high honor.

I guess the editors at the Voice didn't think any descriptions of their valorous acts were worthy of print. This is a unit based in Mountain View. Ten distinguished flying crosses are awarded and all that is fit to print is one paragraph? Pathetic.

Congratulations to these brave airmen and airwomen.

But I guess they are not as brave, nor face as many dangers, as the garbage sorters who are covered with 17 paragraphs of the typical Voice dribble.
