Shoreline ball fields win Council approval

With the city's ball fields more crowded than ever, the city's youth sports leagues may soon find some relief.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but...... What will be the criteria to determine which organization(s) gets first dibs?? This could get ugly....... Let the turf wars begin!!!!

The dimensions of the soccer fields (100 x 60 yards), while within acceptable specifications, are realistically too small. A dimension of 120 x 75 yards would be much, much better, and the field could be lined in a different color to accomodate younger groups that play on a reduced size field.

This is something long overdue. For years Mountain View has been short on fields for youth sports like Little League, Bobby Sox, Pop Warner, etc. with schools most time not wanting to share.
