Another blow to Hangar One restoration

The Senate Committee on Appropriations has killed President Obama's $32.8 million request to restore Moffett Field's Hangar One in its markup of the 2012 federal budget, just as the House Committee on Appropriations did in July.

What a waste of 32.8 million dollars. Taxpayers deserve better.

32 million dollars? Ouch.

If this is so important, get private donations to cover the expense.

What use is this massive structure? And don't get me wrong. I grew up in Mountain View. I loved going to airshows at Moffett and getting a chance to tour Hangar One and even took a few hot air balloon rides inside.

But the upkeep expenses for that behemoth have to be considerable.

I, as a tax payer, do not want to pay for this. Take a picture, then tear it down.
