Council clears path for 4G antennas

Thanks to a City Council decision Tuesday, cell phone companies may soon be able to build a network of small antennas on top of utility poles to help increase 4G service in Mountain View's residential areas.

I hope that some 4 G antennas are installed on San Pierre Way. My att cell phone signal is virtually non existant on this street.

This decision has far-reaching implications. Is 6' - 15' enough? are providers limited in the types of antennas? How many providers will deploy per pole-top? Will providers co-locate on 1 pole-top? or will each provider have his own pole-top? What ground (cabinet) issues will this create (communications, powering)? Many curious eyes will be making their own decisions regarding the impact of pole-top deployments. Seems like a great market opportunity for a pole-top candelabra manufacturer.
