This sounds like great fun! Congratulations to this principal for her creative idea in motivating the kids. I am sure it is something that the children will remember for a long time.

The kids at Castro loved this! Dr. Crates challenged the kids and they responded. Thanks Dr. Crates for being so creative and fun! Go Castro!

Dr. Crates is an inspiration to all of her students and their parents. We are SO lucky to have the BEST principal in the MVWSD! Thank you Dr. Crates, you have worked wonders with our children at Castro!

Wow, you'd think the teachers had nothing to do with it.

Good job, kids and teachers at Castro! And a great way for the principle to recognize their achievement!

I would said she is the most fun and creative principal the school ever have, I saw some kids looking the pictures and they were proud and excited about what she did.

Dr. Crates and her staff are amazing as is Castro School. But, don't forget that the reading program was done at the Mountain View Public Library - another great institution in Mountain View!! They tracked the kids from all the schools and provided the encouragement, books, and programs all during the summer while school was closed.

Kathy, you're right. The Library must be another great institution in Mountain View. After all, the head of it makes more than the superintendent of the schools for running one building a tenth of the staff, and responsible for the education of no children.

As far as the library tracking children, that scares the hell out me.
