Fiery crash closes University Avenue Sunday morning

A 32-year-old suspected drunk driver from Mountain View narrowly escaped with his life early Sunday morning after a high-speed crash that ended with his vehicle bursting into flames on University Avenue, according to Palo Alto police. The driver had been traveling northbound on Alma Street near Oregon Expressway at 2:54 a.m. when he swerved to avoid hitting the curb and drove nearly head on into the southbound lane.

Wow. Well, I guess we're never going to be able to eliminate horrible judgement from the human race. I'm just relieved to hear this guy didn't kill any passengers, innocent bystanders, or himself. Maybe someone will learn from his example?

They'd better suspend all our licenses. Folks from Mtn.View simply can't be trusted to drive safe and sober anymore.

Another Yukon and his dumb-ass, Yukon sized ego is off the road for good. If he's out drinking heavily until 2am, then his marriage is already in a precarious situation. Now it should be rehab or divorce court.
