An icon and pioneer of the high tech industry, he bridged the gap between art and functionality of computers and electronic devices. Steve will be missed.

Really? Is that the most salient point you could conjure for this topic?

It might have been more relevant 10 years ago when Apple looked like it was heading for the scrap-heap, but in its current position in the marketplace, its hard to argue they are not doing something right, and adding value.

Words are fairly useless their own, without data or actions to back them up, and products that provide an inferior experience or performance won't last long in the marketplace if all that supports them is smoke and mirrors.

Wow, and I thought last year's resignation of the leader of all leaders, ex-superintendent Maurice Ghysels, was the end of the world!

Jobs is the king of gadgets. I'm yet to convinced that the iPAD and iPhone are nothing but toys that will have a negative impact on the young, beginning with the distorting of their cervical spines and diminished eye sight from looking down and squinting all the time, that is, if they first are not run over while crossing the street since their preoccupation with their gadgets prevents them from looking both ways.

My point is we need to encourage kids to create new things in their garages like the two Steves did.

Ah, my apologies for misunderstanding your post. I agree, innovation is probably the most valuable resource that America can sustain itself with for the foreseeable future.

Sure, blame the gadget and not the user. Personal responsibility doesn't matter, right? It's not possible to use these devices in a responsible matter, right? No one who has an iPhone or an iPad (or both) is doing anything but playing with their toys, right? These device have no purpose other than to lure our youth into their webs of uselessness, right? Right! (NOT!)
