PUBLIC NOTICE
NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING REGARDING A PROPOSAL TO DEVELOP AFFORDABLE OWNERSHIP HOUSING AT 300 CHIQUITA AVENUE, MOUNTAIN VIEW
The City of Mountain View will hole a neighborhood meeting regarding a proposed affordable ownership housing development, on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Mountain View Library Community Room, 585 Franklin Street, Mountain View. Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit public benefit corporation, is proposing to develop 8 ownership homes at 300 Chiquita Avenue, for very low and low income families. The purpose of the neighborhood meeting is for Habitat for Humanity to share preliminary information regarding their proposal, respond to questions and obtain community input. Meeting notes from the neighborhood meeting will be provided to the City Council for their consideration in making funding decisions about the proposal.
The City of Mountain View has $12.0 million in housing funds available for new affordable housing projects and three projects have submitted funding proposals, including the Habitat for Humanity proposal. There will be extensive noticing and opportunities for public input on these proposals starting with Council meetings this fall to make preliminary funding decisions. Those projects receiving a funding reservation will be allowed to submit development review applications and additional public meetings will be held before the City Council makes any final decisions on the projects. The City will be notifying you of these future meetings and encourages your participation.
