Hit-and-run driver avoids jail time

The driver in a hit-and-run accident that killed a man in downtown Mountain View avoided jail time when she was sentenced Monday, July 18. Keibun Son's license was suspended and she was fined and sentenced to probation and community service, almost one year after the deadly accident, a spokeswoman with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office said.

There must be more to this story. No jail time and an $8,112 fine for hit-and-run resulting in manslaughter seems a little light.
