I wonder if they are the same people robbing us over on Rock Street in between Independence and Rengstorff? 4 incidents in 2 weeks. And we have a policeman at the end of our block!! What's going on, Mountain View?

It's called Karma. That's what you get for trying to shoot a defenseless bird minding its business. Is that even legal? The shooting victim should be prosecuted as well.

Epitaphs like "rest in peace"?

"what police called a semi-automatic handgun."
And what might others call it?

This whole thing sounds rather unlikely. He just strolled out the door with a pellet gun to shoot at a bird, just as these two thugs happened by?
Come on. If you buy that, have I got a used car for you!

Takes a pellet gun out in plain sight to shoot a bird? Where's the neighbors? Or is this a part of town where "snitches get stitches"?

Bird - 1
Everyone else - 0

The Eye is a registered user.

Sounds like there's a different story underneath here. Two men confront one other man, both with guns. One man pulls out a pellet gun, and the other one of a pair of men ups the ante with a real one, shoots, and committing a robbery into the bargain. What is the history of all the people involved, is what I'd like to know.

Whats going on with Mt view? Black and Hispanic kids are violating civilized citizens right to live peacefully. Just look at the pathetic views from the liberals in these posts, justifying armed robbery and attempted murder because of the bird. That is the attitude and denial that will ultimately lead to more uncivilized behavior. Fight the problem!!

The scenario sounds awfully suspicious, drug deal gone bad?

This story is a load of BS. Who shoots birds with pellet guns in Mountain View? That clown ought to be waterboarded until he tells the truth. It's legal under the PATRIOT Act. Just do it.

Wow - Mountain View conservatives seem to be very racists, based on the posts here.

I hope the conservatives can join the civilized world at some point!

Fight the hate!

Way to tell em Sal! I guess your suggesting that Mountain View conservatives celebrate the youth who are committing most of the violent crime? By covering up the the problem and avoiding the discussion will we fix the problems that are prevalent in these communities? Oh no, I guess its easier to label anyone who stands up for their community as a racist. Keep your hate out of our neighborhoods, how about that!!!!

@ B,

When someone says, "Black and Hispanic kids are violating civilized citizens right to live peacefully." - that's racist. We don't need your permission to make this determination.

And I can't help but notice how many of you ranters don't know the difference between your and you're. Learn that and I'll take your posts more seriously.

B -

Nope, people who commit crimes should be dealt with according to the law. Are you suggesting we become lawless?

You're not discussing, you're making uninformed statements.

It seems you have enough hate for everyone.

Happy 4th of July!

Annoyed.

Do you think Nortenos and Sorenos are non-racist? I pay taxes and live a peaceful existence, accepting people from all races and walks of life into my home. Perhaps I loaded my initial statement in a manner that was inappropriate, but to ignore the fact that a disproportional amount of violent crime is coming from these communities is irresponsible. Do you think we should adopt ineffective procedures like the TSA, groping little old ladies, while allowing men from hostile nations to slip through the cracks? I for one believe that we need to focus more attention on prevention in specific communities. Look at violent crime statistics in proportion to racial makeup of neighborhoods across the whole USA, I guess this data should be ignored?
