Council compromises in vote on San Antonio center project

San Antonio shopping center is set for a major facelift after a suspenseful council meeting Tuesday in which the project appeared to be doomed for much of the discussion.

Good job city council. Not approving this project will simply result in one of our cities most critical retail sectors becoming blighted.

And please stop comparing every commercial center with Stanford and
Santana Row. Those are regional centers, with high end retail that is not interested in having a store every 2 miles along ECR. The San Antonio Center should not and can not be a smaller version of those centers, it will not be competetive on those terms. Mountain View is not Palo Alto or San Jose, and should not try to be.
