I wish people in the health care industry would stop treating quality and quantity as either/or choices. It's the same shallow thinking that contrasts quality and/or low cost. We need both! We need quality AND quantity. We need quality AND low cost. The real challenge here is not being more committed to quality, the real challenge is finding a way to deliver high-quality, low-cost care to a broad range of people.

We need our cake and we need to eat it too! Or how about: I want a Ferrari, but at the price of a Ford Focus.

This may come as a shock, but you get what you pay for in this world. That has always been the case, and it will remain the case. So we can all squeeze our eyes shut, hold our breaths, and wish for unicorns and rainbows, but it isn't going to change a darn thing.

So here is what is going to happen with this disaster of a Healthcare bill: Most people in the US will end up with a totally shitty healthcare system with long waits and poor service, while the people with the economics means will get the best medical care their money can buy.

It pretty much works that way with just about everything, and I personally have no problem with it. But then again, I never felt the world, much less the government, owed me anything.
