"Trinidad was also on parole from the California Youth Authority, Wylie said. She isn't sure if he will be charged with violating his parole.

The driver of the car was issued a citation for speeding. Marijuana was found in the car, but the person who claimed responsibility for the drug had a medical cannabis card."

There you have it. Proof positive that so called "Medical marijuana use" is directly connected to crime. What more proof do you need, to clearly show what most common-sense-equipped folk knew all along, that when marijauna dispensaries pop up somewhere in your region, crime soon follows?

Actually, I'd like to see more of that so-called proof--oh, and hold the fallacies of logic in your argument next time, please.

Marijuana dispensaries are heavily regulated and state law currently considers them legitimate operations, even if many oppose. I believe that there would be more of a correlation between crime and illegal drug trafficking than with dispensaries, which try to follow the law so that they will even be allowed to exist at all. Case in point: the violence of all the various drug cartels in Mexico.

It also appears from the story that cars are associated with crime. What more proof do you need to ban these horseless carriages?

Saw almost every police car in Mountain View around the Medical Building on FRIDAY NIGHT! Lights Flashing, Roads Blocked, People Watching.

First anything gets in the news is Monday AFTERNOON!

Love the way this town is fast on spreading the news... Of course if it was a new restaurant opening on Castro, this story would have been posted within 10 mins of the opening.

Just a thought but, if you depend on the "news" you get from THIS source, you folks should really delve deeper into other sources.
As near as I can tell, this is a platform for corn-ball blogs.
Not much else.

This has been the only mention of this story anywhere in any news. Dog gets hit in Sunnyvale and it makes the 5:00 news. A deployment with this many cops and nothing is mentioned. Personally I think the MV Police do a fine job. It's the news people who ignore our sleepy little town.

Any rational person can see the fallacy in "medical marijuana" and only losers continue to make these so called arguments in favor of controlled substances (i.e. "drugs"). I know, I have a step-brother who is a "medicinal marijuana user." In reality, he's an unemployable drug addict whose beyond help. If you legalize controlled substances then please legalize euthanasia for these "medicinal marijuana users/drug addicts" rather than have their families and society foot the bill for their self-serving pleasures. It's tough to turn your back on a family member but it's the best thing I ever did for my family and for my step-brother whose ruined my parents and siblings with his self-serving arguments.

"Marijuana dispensaries are heavily regulated and state law currently considers them legitimate operations"

Not true at all...they are not regulated in Santa Clara County and they are not legal under current state law. They are allowed to operate because of political uncertainties, not because they are legal.

Evidence galore that the anti mmj crowd does not need cannabis to have less than rational thoughts.
I don't smoke, but the people here voicing opposition to it sound like the lunatic fringe.

And you see me at night with an illegal smile,
It doesn't cost very much but it lasts a long while.
Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone.
I'm just tryin to have me some fun.
