Guard your belongings, Mountain View, for the highwayman known as the dreaded "Red Hood" hath struck! But seriously, folks, I'll bet he'll not be wearing that red hoody again, for pulling his next job.
I would suggest that area should have a Neighborhood Watch group, but I think that the fear of gang or otherwise criminal element reprisal, and the attendant fear of same, is much too high in that area, which is too bad, really.

right by the school. so people get mugged in front of elementary schools in Mt View now, just before they open up.
