I'm glad PG&E will be giving us advance notice. It will give us a chance to cart our valuables (and other precious cargo) to a safe distance. How they'll deal with relighting all the pilot lights is the least of my worries. I'm more than idly curious how the pressures in the surrounding gas mains will be affected, and how the water will be isolated from them. Also, according to the very fuzzy maps I've seen, Line 132 has a big split-off right near the three gas stations at the intersection of Shoreline Bl and Middlefield Rd. If one or both lines pass through the MEW Superfund Area, excavating fragile old gas lines will be especially ticklish there. Maybe we can hire some of the brave souls who have been trying to tamp down the Fukushima Daiichi nukes?

THESE LINES SHOULD NOT BE "OVER-PRESSURED" WITH WATER--THEY ARE WAY TOO OLD--BUT SHOULD INSTEAD BE INSPECTED USING "PIGS" WHICH ARE VIDEO-TYPE MOBILE DEVICES THAT CAREFULLY EXAMINE EVERY SPOT INSIDE THESE OLD PIPE LINES, DETECTING ANY CORROSION OR "BAD WELDS", LIKE WERE FOUND NEAR THE HORRIFIC SAN BRUNO BLAST. SOMEONE BRING THIS UP AT THE TOWN HALL MTG!!

Every HP gas distribution lines IN OTHER STATES ARE CLEARLY MARKED AS SUCH!
IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO REMOVE THEM!
It's obvious the the MURDERERS ( PG&E ) and developers removed them; I see MARKED gas line right of ways ( with NO houses on them ) all over the Denver Metro Area.
The San Bruno MURDER SITE will possibly avoid a repeat, but hydrostatic tests will probably need an INDEPENDENT MONITOR present to make sure PG&E doesn't fudge the data the way that has already been done.
Remember Bhopal....
Another note: Safety devices are supposed to CLOSE THE VALVES instead of FULLY OPEN THE VALVES upon sensing a pressure drop....
That makes it PREMEDITATED MURDER....
