Illegal off leash dogs stealing Bubb park from kids

Original post made by Dog Lover, Cuesta Park, on Apr 20, 2011

I'd like to know what can be done about the rogue off leash dogpark
that exists on weekend mornings at Bubb Park. Over the past yrs the number of dog has grown significantly and now litterally PACKS of dogs will run up on any dog owner walking their dog on a leash through the park. The dogs are also NOT controlled by voice as I witnesed last weekend: a group of 4 dogs went running through the sand area scarin the kids while hteir owners screamed and scremed with no response. It was doggie anarchy. I've yet to see anyone hurt, but I have seen some aggression shown by dogs when an unfamiliar LEASHED dog enters the area. I like dogs and I like dog parks, but what's going on at Bubb each saturday morning has grown into a tragedy waiting to happen. 15+ offleash dogs in an area not set up for that is flat out wrong. Either a kid or an unsuspecting person walking their dog through the park on a leash. Either way it'll be the city's fault if they continue to let this go on.

Pictures speak louder than words and video shouts the message. I would film this scene of doggy anarchy and show it to the police. As far as I know there is a leash law in Mountain View, and that Bubb is not a designated dog park.

Its too bad WE CITIZENS need to video crimes and take them to the police before they do something. Any cop could drive down Barbara St on any Saturday morning and simply look out their window to see all the offenders. If that's asking too much, then yah, I guess we'll need to spoon feed our police to get something done.
