So gratifying to see the district being pro-active during the tough time. Great example.

Part of the reason this District (IMO) has been able to weather this well is the Superintendent tries to involve the community (not just administrators) in some of the major financial decisions. He tends to assemble committees to provide feedback and priorities even when these are not required by law (example building priorities before a bond is even proposed). This has also happened with operational expenses. So not just the Trustees - talking to administrators - are involved.
It also helps immensely to be in 'the Google bubble' for real-estate (gee they all got 10% raises?)
