Building the best city manager

This Saturday morning the City Council will be asking residents what they would like in a new city manager, who will replace Kevin Duggan when he retires April 2 after 20 years on the job.

Why not consider saving the budgeted $23,000 for the recruitment process. Instead of paying a headhunter why not put the position out for bid at professional management firms. I guess in industry they would refer to doing this as outsourcing. Whether you like it or not it's a sign of the times and it is only a matter of time until it's done.
