Man arrested for soliciting sex from minor

A San Jose man was arrested for soliciting a local 16-year-old boy to engage in lewd and sexual behavior Sunday night, police said.

Let us fervently hope that he is dealt with as mercifully as the Mexican authorities would deal with an American caught in a similar position in Mexico.

I requested that the comment by someone posing as me be taken down. It was an ad hominem attack on the previous poster by some coward hiding behind the handle "Old_Ben." I do not use the underscore.

I'm not disputing what this man did was crude and disgusting, but I think we all need to be realistic. What was this child doing on an adult party-line looking for hookups? Where was the parental supervision/involvement during all of this? I'm sorry for being cold-hearted but I feel that this crime could have been avoided for this teen if some common sense was used. We can't just blame the offender and turn a blind eye in these situations.
