Palo Alto makes fresh pitch for Google Fiber

As Google winnows down the field of applicants for its highly coveted "Google Fiber to Community" project, Palo Alto is making a last-gasp push to convince the Mountain View-based high-tech giant to turn the city's longstanding fiber dreams into reality.

This article makes Palo Alto sound kind of pathetic. And editor, fact check the date Google moved to MV. It was much earlier than '06.

Google has been based in Mountain View since its official launch in September 1999.

Meanwhile, the City of Mountain View has been busy finding ways to protect illegal aliens from having their cars towed.
