Los Altos preschool finds new home

Original post made on Feb 8, 2011

The generations-old Los Altos Parent Preschool will not be shutting its doors this June, as many feared. Instead, the pre-kindergarten cooperative will be moving about one mile south, from Los Altos High School to Covington Elementary School, an official from the preschool said.

That's awesome. Now there will be even *more* traffic every morning at those two really poorly managed intersections at Covington/El Monte and El Monte/Foothill.

I guess there's no need for any EIR or traffic study when it's rich, white folks' kids who are being babysat.

There's a preschool that's moved out of that location. So traffic levels shouldn't change dramatically.

As for the "babysitting rich white folks' kids" comment, did you read the part about providing preschool education for less cost by having the parents actively work with the children during the school day, instead of just foisting them off onto the teachers? Most "rich white folks" would rather throw money at the problem and not actually deal with their kids at all...

It's unfortunate that people today assume the worst about everything.

Great news for parents of preschoolers... bad news for drivers. There is already too much school congestion in the area.
