If I am not mistaken, there was this guy who used to sport a big goatee, ride bicycles, hang around a Spanish church on Escuela near Latham, and preach to passersby?

"We weren't sure if he was doped up on something or medically unstable"

Liz, let me help you out on that one. The answer is yes.

"A 16 year old in a liquor store?"

I don't know if you're aware of this, but they sell items other than liquor in those establishments. Ditch the Waiter On Wheels, gramps.

Jesus Rosales is a zealous, good-hearted street preacher. I observed him in and around the Spanish church.

..this guy...the ideafarm... cirque de Mountain View. Anyone read the sister papers of the Voice? The Palo Weekly has stories about a student winning a prestigious science award, lively discussions about education and the Chinese Mom book. The Almanac has stories about a successful soccer game and a Heritage tree falling down. I don't know about you guys, but looking at what makes news in our town, I feel we are all living in the house of the weird, eccentric sister.

Was he talking about Jesus, or Jesus?

He has apparently gone off the deep end. I saw him last in 2009. He was super-tanned and always greeting strangers in the street around the Spanish church.

LOL, I reflect on this too when I read some of the articles in MV-Voice. Part of the difference is demographic, and I suspect that the other cities you mentioned also have a penchant to keeping their skeletons from wandering out of the closet...

Mountain View is definitely a more down-to-earth type of town, which I'm grateful for, though upping the level of discussion is never a bad thing.

They probably think they're doing everyone a favor by not publicizing bad stuff, but I welcome knowing exactly what is going on around me. Don't sweep the bad stuff under the rug. We should all be more aware of our surroundings so we don't become ignorant.

I'm sure good stuff happens here too and that should also be highlighted, just find the right balance.

If it wasn't for the Voice, I wouldn't have a chance to know that IdeaFarm is sidelined and I can relax knowing I won't have to read his drivel on my drive to/from work.

His first name is Jesus. Oh, Boy. Is Jesus in big trouble or what? I remember reading some of these latinos with bumper stickers on their big pick up trucks, SUVs and vans with zillion kids 'Jesus died for your sins'. I guess, Jesus is now back , in the liquor store on Rengstorff Ave scaring away customers.

@Hank Snow; @MVR

Some of the members are confusing this fellow. The man with the gotee greeting strangers and sometimes preaching around the Hispanic Church on Escuela and Latham IS NOT JESUS ROSALES.

I know for a fact -as a member of the church mentioned- that Jesus Rosales does not attend the Hispanic church mentioned.

Hmm, I saw a flyer for a missing guy with either bipolar disorder or schizophrenia at the little Mexican restaurant on Rengstorff and Central...I think this might be the guy. He was off his meds.

@AJ

I'm mighty obliged for the correction.
