Multiple kids with boundless energy and the enthusiasm of youth on a crusade, as well as a Stanford Law education, all working pro bono.
The city and Jannie Quinn may want to rethink their plans, unless you think all the city money and time and CITY MONEY is well spent on this rather than trying to stop, oh, I dunno, mabye all the gang violence we keep reading about?
Enough Jannie Quinn, we get it, you're "tough" when you go after this hardened criminal. Now rise above it and move on. You're beginning to look very petty.

+1. Unless the City sincerely believes Ideafarm to be a danger to the community, its time to stop digging this hole.
Regardless of whether you love him or hate him, the question that needs to be considered now is whether the amount of time, energy, and money pursuing this case really benefits and City and its residents in any meaningful, lasting way.
If the City isn't on solid ground on this, and if the Stanford team comes on board, the "newsworthiness" of this story may graduate it to the major news outlets, with a risk of Mountain View looking like the bully, true or untrue.

Stanford should let Ideafarm move on to their land, if they like him so much.
I will think twice before giving any money to Stanford from now on.

Why not call Boalt Law School at Cal and see if they have any law students who are interested in defending the interests of the residents of Mountain View (under the supervision of a city lawyer).

I'm glad to see Mr. Ideafarm getting some help. All of the attention and vitriol directed at him is embarrassing to me as a resident of Mountain View.

A bank of Stanford Law students with endless resources vs. a Univ of San Diego lawyer on a city budget. The case is already lost.
Those kids are PRAYING to take this all the way to the supreme court.
Time for the grownups to realize how silly and wasteful this all is and stop it.
How many books for our schools could be bought for what this will cost?
Is it worth it? Really, is it worth it?

If the city continues this humiliating and ridiculous waste of resources, is it possible to renounce your "City citizenship"?

If Stanford wants to help so much, let them help "move" Mr. IdeaFarm to Palo Alto, the Stanford Campus, OR Stanford Shopping Center! Let's see how those shoppers like his message!
Ideafarm IS a safety hazard! My car was rear ended on El Camino by a driver who was reading his signs!!!!
Enough said. This is NOTHING about free speech, that "man" needs to be moved out of MV.

Joseph, sounds to me the driver behind you was the hazard. He could have been reading an address number as well, would that make address
numbers on buildings a hazard? A convenient attempt to shift blame indeed but I bet you didn't say to the guy who hit you "Don't worry it wasn't your fault. I don't need your insurance info"
You didn't because the other driver is most obviously the one to blame, for not operating his vehicle in a safe manner and running into you because he chose to focus on a distraction rather than his primary job.

Oh and Joseph, the fact that you had to further demonize him by calling him "that "man"" putting man in quotes as if he somehow doesn't deserve to be classified as a human being. Classy. Doesn't portray you as an unbalanced over-reactor at all.Nope, not at all. Why not just get it over with and say what you really feel? Repeat after me "Burn the witch! Heretic!
