19-year-old man dies on Caltrain tracks today

A 19-year-old Palo Alto man was struck and killed at 1:20 a.m. by a southbound Caltrain in Palo Alto in what was possibly "an intentional act," about four-tenths of a mile north of the California Avenue station, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn. While the man was a Palo Alto resident he had not attended a high school in Palo Alto, she said.

19! He was still just a kid. How sad. My heart goes out to his family and friends; what a terrible way to start a new year.

Very sad, I'm going to donate to suicide prevention. We need more mental health resources available to help prevent tragic suicidal deaths. It appears the resources are not sufficient to the need.
