Class breaks down college barriers

Sometimes, the most important step in getting at-risk youths to consider college is simply getting them to believe they can be accepted at a college or university in the first place. The Bridge to College Program, which launches at Alta Vista High School in January, aims to convince some of those students to pursue higher degrees.

This should be a program filled with hope and future heartwarming stories. Anything that promotes education to an at-risk population is AOK with me. But who's paying for it? I thought there was no extra money for programs like this. Good luck to everyone involved.
