A right to health care

RotaCare -- which runs a clinic on the El Camino Hospital campus -- aims to provide free, quality care to the uninsured through its 11 clinics located all around the Bay Area. Contributions to the Holiday Fund support RotaCare, and six other local nonprofits.

If health care is a right, that means I can force, or have the government force, Cheryl Canning to provide it for me at the barrel of a gun. After all, that is how the government protects my other God-given rights to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." It is great if Canning wants to volunteer but health care is not a right. Else all doctors and nurses should be slaves to provide the rest of us with our "rights."
