Ailing economy takes toll on El Camino

One of the last industries to feel the impact of the recession, health care fell ill in 2010, and El Camino Hospital was no exception. However, what began as a rough fiscal year for the local hospital was beginning to show signs of improvement at the start of December.

Try cutting CEO Kenneth Graham's salary of $632K, and the salaries of the other executives, and they may have been able to save more nurses' jobs.

And while the hospital is doing good things performing clinical research, there's a profit motive there as well--they get paid by the foundations or companies producing the products.
